Shilshole

Shilshole Landscape

Seascape Sky

Last week I went to Shilshole to film some Mother Nature footage to augment waterRIP the Flow as i am changing the story of the installation to fit a Youtube presence.

This transmedia stuff is challenging but great brain exercise. I am thinking it beats the little puzzles and games -you know those products being touted as brain exercises.

I am thinking a whole system's approach will always get better results. When intent, purpose, appreciation and synergy are in harmony with the soul's journey aka core personhood and patterned upon unified field concepts in physics, nature (bio physio perceptions) and consciousness, it makes sense.

WaterRip-the Flow is all over biomimicry, so cosmomimicry isn't such a leap. Dancing with the universe, now i know what i mean.

Year of the Snake

Pastel of San Francisco Garter Snake

Snakes are symbolic of bad juju in Judeo/Christian metaphor but in the Year of the Snake another possibility arises.

Snakes shed their old skins in order to grow.

Shedding the old skin allows for kind of transformation. How cool is that?

Bridging from the last blog entry (Nature is no Mother) where gender personification and the Bible were used to illustrate the vision of division: i now ask "bad juju for who?"

Playing with the metaphor of the talking snake: when it seduces Eve into taking a bite of the apple, isn't it about asking her (and Adam) to grow into consciousness, accept responsibility for thoughts, actions?  Doesn't that whole disobedience thing smack of "do as i say, because i am the all powerful Oz" or the ubiquitous, "because i said so?"

The better story reads that the apple is a gift, for in it are the seeds of " becoming."

Now just "being" is the classic meditation focus. Being in the moment is super, it helps ground and center us, is where joy resides, helps us resonate with the frequency of life, more.

However, accepting the process of becoming, awakens the souls journey aka inspires potential, blasts open our personal gates of  mediocrity, exposes the ideas of consciousness - how it can activate or detonate potential and the quantum ideas behind the observer affecting the observed.  This is exciting stuff. What amazing creative possibilities are suggested.

And as concepts move conscious behaviours, we are entering the era of unified fields and understanding more the energy, the power of thoughts.  Even as the old "skin" is ungraciously hanging on in some sectors, we are working around it.

How do we exist in being and becoming at the same time. Like the paradox of the unique individual being but part of the whole, it seems the paradox is the solution.

Transformation is going towards "light." I experience it through "aha" moments and core centered knowing. This may or may not speak to you but i believe you "know it when you experience it " is available to all conscious beings. Classic light bulb glowing effect in cartoons subs for further research.

So if we say yes to the "new dress" what now? As we shed the skins of the old paradigm there is a time of naked vulnerability, a time of asking what am i doing out here on this limb?

Yet finding our new skin, one that is unique and yet paradoxically insync with the whole, calls for a time of "dress up" or "trial and error."  (Note that gender play even here :-)

So what we need are a few dressing rooms attached to experimental labs with showrooms, alteration enthusiasts and some multi discipline consultants, simply put, we need more places to dance with the universe.

These will be safe "houses"  to try new ideas on, check the fit, see what needs altering, what needs discarding, so we can strut out all fresh and renewed. This will encourage others to do in kind. (As ego grows up we will better understand its place in the replace)

For deep down in knowing, we generate the transformative DNA, it's the conscious evolution, baby. It's the immune response system, the act of life calling to life, this is how we show our appreciation of the gift we were given. This is whole systems healing.

This recycouture vision brought to you by fashionRIP Project, manifesting the change one day at a time.

Nature is no Mother

Totems seem to personify the male archetype, but here they bloom, sprout  new possibilities, grow organically or "chaotically" depending on the observer! The blur is under observation, freeing possibilities!

I am getting into character this morning, attempting to manifest the Mother Nature archetype for the waterRIP video.

See, that's a problem. Mother Nature and God the Father- like who set that up? And why do we continue this divisive nonsense?

How do i play the archetype while dissolving "her."

Reasoning behind the curtain:

I am suspecting that the authorative ignorance that decided we were creatures of a mechanistic universe, put Galileo under arrest for having the temerity to say the Sun wasn't orbiting Earth and more recently, it was that kind of voice that told "us" that throwing toxins over large amounts of land, was a great idea.

That voice believed that it had the right to force the world into submission. That voice thought  profitable poisons would just "go away," that the water used to arouse the plants would carry industrial waste laced fertilizers and nerve toxins known as pesticides, into the gutters, streams and on into the rivers. That "nature" would carry our collective wastes and proftable toxins out to the ocean.  The ocean would then magickly clean it all up. (or insert the carbon particles speeding up global warming, general air pollution, aquifer and well contamination, pharmacueticals etc. there is a long list)

So check it out. The underlying assumption is that Mother Nature would take the abuse and do the clean up. Now where is that coming from?

Does it relate to God the Father telling man he has dominion over all earth and all the creatures?

"We are told in Genesis 1 that God said to man “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Gen. 1:28)."

I, for one, must query the arrogance of a God that dissed most of creation for a particular species and for only one gender of that species. (1- aka later)

So to avoid the trap of that argument - i consider the whole picture and jump to language itself.

People created language and then used it to describe "feelings/actions/mysteries.objects" which they named God. So now we are discussing a set of abstract associations that have been handed down for thousands of years. (We know what happens to stories after a while, right?)  So instead of focusing on the language, perhaps it is time to go back to the feeling, the knowing core, deep heart, the soul of things and reconnoiter.

Who are we - now? We have turned on many new lights; nothing looks as it did before. When we see differently, what we see, changes, and that is where our possibilities live. Let's join them.

(1) This is the same story that ignored Lilith and gave Eve, the rib clone, star status. So Eve, being a literal part of Adam, was there to attend him, have "his" children and in a jam be his scapegoat (The apple right?) This is all metaphor for a pattern associated with Nature and the Feminine.  So even when 'they" were benefiting from the work of the planet's natural services, enjoying "her' bounty, it was acceptable to take and give back as little as possible.  This is a pattern of abuse. Wow!~ Like a death sentence for sure.

Dark Matter

GrassRoots, StreetUp and  Light on

I came across this most interesting book (thanks to Beverly Naidus Assoc Prof of Interdisciplinary Arts at UW)

Dark Matter Art and Politics in the Age of Enterprise Culture by Gregory Sholette appeared to fill in another piece of the system's picture.  Dark Matter spoke to me with how financialization has infected/affected creative diversity and how the dark or major matter of the universe upholds the whole. Love that vision!

"All of these forms of dark matter play an essential role in the symbolic economy of art. Collectively the amateur and the failed artist represent a vast flat field upon which a privileged few stand out in relief. "

(djb: The privileged few represent the necessary scarcity that our current mainstream economic vision maintains in order to conform to its belief  aka scarcity drives up prices right? This is orchestrated by collectors, patrons and galleries looking to make money, what we believe -we manifest.)

"The aim of this book is to raise an inevitable question: what if we turned this figure and ground relation inside out by imagining an art world that could not exclude practices and practitioners it secretly depended upon? What then would become of its value structure and distribution of power? The answer is not to imagine the emergence of a more comprehensive social art history in which the usual art subjects are better contextualized. Nor is the answer to take part in some rarified tour of this dark matter world in which the mysteries missing cultural mass is acknowledged, ruminated over, and re-shelved or archived as a collection of oddities. Instead, when the excluded are made visible, when they demand visibility, it is always ultimately a matter of politics and a rethinking of history."

And when the talent sees the extortion, the stolen ideas plopped into ads, the corporatizing of what emerged  inthe embrace of the collective - they get miffed. When miffed they stop asking permission and create alternative scenes.

Art, music, fashion have been prime instigators that have reseeded the imagination of the culture.  This was often dissed or "ignored" by the mainstream until stolen. Not this time!

This time there is a new story with a conscious intent to align with nature,  play with the energy of the unified field and the heart and soul of  all matter. This time we transform the paradigm, the light is coming on. This is street up.
