Snowy Day Letter

The Keystone of the entire structure of the spiritual and physical universe is Rhythmic Balanced  Interchange Between all opposites.

Hi John,
Good Morning, Thank you for understanding. Like i said, i have been an intrepid explorer much of my life. When i was told by a school counselor that i could do or be anything i wanted to do or be, based on my high test scores; i took it literally. Giving teachers, testers what they wanted for a grade was one thing. Trusting them to know what was good for me after that, was another.

Now about the quotes you sent:

The focus on sexual energy is very masculine. In the "expendable male concept," pushing this dichotomy  about creation- via a procreation base- is understandable, but limiting . Russel's quote  about "knowledge over the illusion of our senses" - again with that hierarchy, and again a matter of abilities and perhaps focus. Our knowledge is constantly being checked, tossed, added to; is a flow and perhaps our senses are somewhat dulled by expectation limits and environment.  When the word, sensual, is used, it generally refers to sex. That says plenty about the perceptive story, not the truth of our abilities.

As the feminine side of the gender spectrum is endowed with greater sensitivities, well duh! This adds nuanced speculation to the case for why the witches were burned, besides the herbal, birth death rituals, the very sensitive were probably suspect because the male authorities, were really not equipped to get it. Masculine hierarchical anthropomorphism  at work.  AKA We actualize from beliefs and the general belief constructs were dominated by men.  Therefore, our species, while trying to survive, focused on certain aspects and abilities over others. All good. We did it, we have survived, and now we need a new focus.

What was once, sensible, now looks to me like sophisticated nonsense. This malecentric way of thinking went too far, is now over the "hill." (Cycles as in economics and crops,  phoenix and dragon, birth and death- we know this stuff)

The damage that was done is being faced and queried by many, including the very "others" that so stressed the old guard. Immune system pattern comes to mind, as the health of the individual, the culture, the planet’s life forces, is now jeopardized by the very practices that made sense, once upon a time.

But that time is over. And in Now time, our maturing species needs to come together, as true equals, uniquely diverse and therefore special, to write the new story for a new ”real world."  This is a challenge, we will need new ground rules for discourse etc, but i think we are worth it, LIFE is worth it. The Uni-verse of all consciousness, the energy of the connected field that we share with the whole of life, iis worth it. We can do this! We can all be intrepid explorers.
cheer,
deborah
PS i have a plan, a first project in mind. Because first you start.

Standard Myths

After reading, "Disrupting Hell:  Accountability for the Non-believer"

by Professor Clayton M. Christensen, Craig Hatkoff and Rabbi Irwin Kula  posted to the Off White Papers, I had to comment, however, I do not think that comment went through.
That was a let down but then I remembered this little blog of mine and decided to pop it here.  As the fashionRIP Project has matured and changed it is still as a representation, a portrait of an  amorrphic construct, it makes sense it is a window from a specific angle, necessary in fathoming that new big picture.  Please read the article here:

what we see changes what we see

“We argue that without a strong moral and ethical foundation civilization’s prospects for peace and prosperity will remain elusive and at some point simply founder.” (Disrupting Hell)

In the floundering and the chaos, she found her path. She broke the spell and a new day dawned. *

Civilization appears to be floundering, but not for want of a set of rigid rules or a belief package that is authored to power over others. The old default pattern of evolution (hierarchical organization) did its part but is no longer adequate. Our species survived, and our consciousness grew. That is the key, the gift we inherited. We now have the knowledge we need to be as the heroes we created.

In all the scuffling and churning, the breeding and yearning, the human being has arrived. Perhaps our species has entered the TimeSpace moment it was
seeking. We are at the threshold of a great new beginning if we choose to accept the challenge. That challenge involves a breaking from the past, not with anger and blame, but with understanding and appreciation. This is about facing truth and embracing emotions. We will grow when we accept who we really are, as individuals, as cultures, as a species.

Human ego claimed dominance over the six Biological Kingdoms of Life; God bless those Victorians! Now that metaphor looks dated, immature and simplistic. Food chains are webs, bodies are ecosystems, there are multiple alternatives to everything and though that buggers the old ideology, it is good for us.

What happens if you visualize your life in a vast entangled field of energy, no marked rigid ups or downs, but with an exuberance of flow and transition? Here is where the life spark (observed when sperm enters egg in utero) takes on new meaning. It translates into a connected, interrelated, synchronistic, energetic story of being and doing human in a vast realm of all life.

It explains the value of diversity and relativity, respects the social commons, embraces the gender spectrum, handles intricate nuances, deep roots and validates love. It sets up a broad narrative that explains the past and present, while it opens the future for a leap, not just another iteration. It is here that everyone’s unique potential really does matter. Imagine.

It is science backed, (replicable) yet retains the joy of the one-off, the special aha, the sensorial experience of each TimeSpace moment. I think we are poised to launch this new story from the whole of that which has gone before. I have been assembling an amorphic yet detailed outline, a pool of data and research that can be placed into many formats, but the sum also matters. Like natural evolution, it is a process open to infinite input (a rational form of growth) and it requires others to flourish. It fits the super reality of micro to macro and vice versa, it crosses lifelines, it is “teachable” and do-able in projects. It is an experiment in the greater possibility, of the individual and the collective; the juxtapose is relevant.

So that’s a synopsis. I have volumes of notes and stories. It is helpful to riff off others as this is not well framed by old formats and i have found that too much at once is Too Much and people run away.

Reaching Out

Letter to a cosmologist,

because my best friend said "why not write to him?"

"........
Your comment about going backwards into the simpler past to better understand the complex present, was an aha moment for me.  Now I get what I have been doing by instinct.

My current work started as a short story for an arts installation. Species on the Verge (also a video) and Water-The Flow (fashionRIP) were prior gallery shows that dealt with the human connection to Nature. I was planning another when my path switched. The last piece was to have been an exploration of climate change. However, the melting metaphor resulted in another kind of story and in the process, it outgrew the mediums.

Now the script is vast and unwieldy. It is like a hologram in my mind, filled with information relationships and connections. I have unearthed enough evidence to change the story. Knowing how human beliefs constructed this “reality” in a way that limits our species greater potential is maddening, even painful. Lately i have been working through the lens of play, it helps.

“….   . change the world, change the metaphor, change the story.” These are some of Joseph Campbell’s last words to Bill Moyer. I heard them quoted after I had started this letter. Make of it what you will.

I have collected several AAs and a Bachelors in Environmental Science and Communications (2012) I continue auditing and exploring ever more fields of study. The historic accounts are simpler, in number and variety. The information is sometimes shocking, humorous and or naive in today’s light. When played forward the cumulative record gets us “here.”  As in Big Bang, so too, in life.

So now what? I have been trying to find a way to get a peer review forum going, but so far it has been “good idea,” and that’s it. This is too big to do alone. I would really appreciate any tips, ideas, links to anything in kind, further inquiry, whatever.

Sincerely,
deborah j barnes
