Art Directed

When artists collaborate, they can do more without the meddlin' middles that take a big part of the profits.....if rockers can, why not designers?

Street up art/design empowers society as the focus is put back on the "art" and not the profit, profit should be the result not the raison d'art.

Pierced Arrows (usa) and Black Lips (UK) interview in Dazed Digital inspired this entry. The B. Lips video of their song "Drugs" brings up the larger social problem underlying abuse. Are we just trying to fill a hole in our psyches?

Japan is now studying suicide as a social issue, realizing that blaming victims has not improved stats. How does this tie together?

Maybe it all means that we are searching for better truths, changing focus, adding perspective and attaining new consciousness.
Maybe drug damage and suicide drives are symptoms of consumer based systems. All that stuff never really fills the holes. It's time to look elswhere....and some of us are!

Climate Chaos Chapter

desert Skirt 1
from 2nd use materials
A new chapter of fashionRIP was born early this morn. Feedback on the Verge dresses inspired a photographer to reinterpret the scene with snow. The black and white drama he painted was so stunning that it spawned an adamant must do on my part.

So as I figure we could find ourselves in a frozen or a desert landscape, it appears to be a throw of the dice.

Moscow is experiencing a record heat wave and yet evidence of global cooling exists. Then consider the planet orbital flip that happens every 1.5 million or so years and appears due give or take a few 100 years.

Knowing stuff leads to more questions than answers. What we do know is that changes are a coming and futurist dioramas are fun to fantasize; to vision enables the re-vision.

back from AZ

Gpa (we get along fine) Papa and Gma

parents and child

Joshua Trees

Az is not Oz but the wizard is going unchecked all the same! Desert sprawl makes me wonder about the "what" that is in charge of consensual reality!

All these people are living in a land with little water (hi-jacked from the Colorado River) and pesticides are needed for scorpion control (yup, they can kill ya). Indoor living means AC and HD on big flat screen TVs, Wii and uber video games on super clocked computers -all making for good little consumers but at what "real" cost?

Ok the day temp was over 100 degrees but the evenings were nice. Suv's and US flags and the Vision worker (yard care and builders of swimming pools) who told me when I asked what he made of the low use of spolar energy that "they don't think about the future."
Side 2:
My granddaughter was born there, in her daddy's hospital (he's a doctor) so there I was and there she is and I dropped as many seeds of change as I dared. Snippet educating is my new best practice, challenging everyone to do in kind is my new nag!

medical mannequins

skater accident dude at Swedish Hospital

Me n Mr Bones -real bones! at Vets Hosp.

Low fidelity Gal at Swedish
Wow, techy mannequins for optimal health care practice and practicing.
These state of the art, high fidelity simulators are being brought to life in several area teaching hospitals. I tagged along as the photographer with a nurse who is presenting the needed research to her hospital as a training tool for the nursing staff.
The low fidelty models are the basic trainers.
I figure the re-use strategy involves display; the surprise function of a function.
I was able to get some hands on training at the Northwest Hospital which was awesome. I never used a stethoscope before and hearing an asthma wheeze even from under a plastic skin set up a buy in step to the real. They talk, give birth, pee, bleed, perspire....again wow!
The teaching lab at Northwest wants to eradicate the saying "Nurses eat their young" by creating safe, nurturing learning environments where students get comfortable with asking questions and helping each other in collaborative learning experiences.
This is the part that resonates with the fashionRIP Project. We are evolving past the fear syndrome of limited hierarchal power into recognizing and celebrating the individual within the group, the connection of a better whole.
